Instructor(s)

Lulu WINFIELD

Senior Yoga Teacher, TrainerPRO

Lulu set up the Pre and Post Natal yoga department at PYC more than ten years ago and continues to take great pride in nurturing its growth. She teaches all over West London and also runs workshops for couples. A mother of two gorgeous girls and a miniature Dachsund; Yogabirth teacher, Childbirth Educator, Doula, and Reflexologist, Lulu has been working around birth since the end of the 90’s after a career in the music industry. She is proud to have trained directly under seminal teachers Lolly Stirk and Yvonne Moore, founders of the Active Birth Movement with Janet Balaskas. Their unique training equips teachers with thorough knowledge of birth physiology to provide powerful and safe yoga classes combined with a practise inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. This exceptional yoga training is accredited by The Royal College of Midwives. Lulu was an original founding member of Doula UK and her work as a birth doula since 2001 and presence at over 300 births informs her teaching with a very real and current knowledge. Lulu has enjoyed a personal yoga practise since 2000. Discovering the transformative power of yoga during her own pregnancies lit a touch paper that still burns bright. She is passionate about sharing this beautiful energy with other women to empower them, through yoga, to feel joyful and strong throughout pregnancy and beyond into motherhood. Through John Stirk’s teaching, she developed an insight into working in a more intuitive and instinctual way, to respect the body’s wisdom and to let go of old habits – physical, mental and emotional. Learning to ‘let go’ is a huge part of her teaching. Lulu infuses her classes with powerful breath work to draw the attention deeper within.
